Passion Pit’s ‘Carried Away’ was already an amazingly fun song to dance to, and then Tiesto came along and turned into an outright dance anthem. Why stop there though when you can make an amazing music video to go with it? I can only imagine how much fun it was to film a group of kids shoveling what looks like pixie powder into their mouths  and then exploding into piles of clones of themselves. Who comes up with this stuff?

It was back when I first heard his track ‘Placid Acid’ that I fell in love with Brighton producer Tourist. A year later, he’s reminded me of his talent with ‘Your Girl’. It’s sexy, ethereal and haunting, with subtle vocals taken from Aaliyah’s ‘If Your Girl Only Knew’. There’s nothing this guy’s put out that I don’t like, so check out his Soundcloud here, and watch out for his new EP titled Tonight, due out Feb 18, 2013.  PS- If you love music as much as I do, make sure your visual experience matches your auditory one. This isn’t a new track by any measure, but ‘Overtime’ by New York trio Cash Cash is made of pure joy, and it just had to be shared. It’s a pays tribute to elements of Daft Punk’s ‘Work It’, but it’s pulled off in a way that it’s something completely new and fresh on its own. Disco beat? Kids’ vocals? If this doesn’t make you want to wiggle, I don’t know what will. PS- If you love music as much as I do, make sure your visual experience matches your auditory one. Check out my favorite light diffraction glasses at...

Bassnectar has been churning out some interesting stuff lately, but his first track of 2013 is by far my favorite. Lorin’s remix of ‘Rez’ by Underworld has bass in all the right places and playful synths that make me feel like I’m taking a walk through an enchanted forest. This track builds into one of the smoothest, biggest drops I’ve heard in a while. From about 1:05 on I had goosebumps. Apparently this track drove fans absolutely nuts for the  NYE countdown in Nashville. Wish I could have been there for it! PS- If you love music as much as...

Feed Me knows what it takes to remain relevant in the super-saturated market of EDM music: versatility. This preview of ‘Death By Robot’ is one of the tracks on the new Feed Me EP, set to drop any day now in January 2013. The disco inspired beat and robot vocals are reminiscent of some old school Daft Punk, in a really, really amazing kind of way. Feed Me possesses a unique ability to produce both light-hearted dance music alongside absolute dubstep filth while still managing to preserve a sound that is always recognizably Feed Me. I’m really looking forward to...
